We recognise, develop and improve skills opportunities for those entering the creative and cultural sector and those already employed within it.

By 2020 the broader performing arts and music sector is predicted to grow by more than 40%. For the industry to meet this potential the availability of a highly skilled technical workforce is fundamental. We aim to provide a single, collective standard for skills development in our sector.

We create industry-endorsed careers advice and guidance through our annual careers events and online resources. We promote entry routes and apprenticeships within the creative and cultural sector, through our Apprenticeship Training Service. We work with our Founder College network and specialist training providers to promote training and professional development for those already working within the sector.

Our national programme includes:

Most activity happens at local level with employers working with our colleges to adapt and improve the existing curriculum and develop new opportunities.

The National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural is part of a national network of Skills Academies.
