Arts Award Training

Following over half of our Founder Colleges attending training last Summer to deliver the Arts Award, we are looking to get a better picture on what delivery you are running or planning to undertake, and the opportunities it is supporting.

Heart 'n' Soul Beautiful Octopus and Squidz Clubs

Do you host, or have students perform as part of the Heart n Soul Club Nights? We noticed that Lewisham College were part of a recent event, and have been approached to broker further links to allow your college to be a host venue.

 

Paul Hamlyn Foundation research - FE provision for participatory arts works


Consilium Research and Consultancy (Consilium) has been contracted by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF) to lead on research to map the provision of participatory arts work in Higher and Further Education.

A creative influence at recruitment and careers events

Last year we were able to provide materials and industry proffesionals at 40% of our Founder Colleges' Ceative events; allowing students to gain the knowledge and tools to navigate progression routes in training and employment.

This year we would like to have a presence at at least one of all of your events, with materials and speakers -from having the Backstage Gallery in your college foyer during an open day, through to Steve Cheney giving a talk as part of a summer Careers event.

Vocational Qualifications Day; making the difference

I am sure many of you are part of VQ Day on Wednesday 20 June. Let us know what you are up to related to the Creative sector and we will create a network wide promotion of the activity?

Sound Recording and Music Technology NOS Consultation

Calling all Music Tutors........I would like to make sure you are also included in our Sound Recording and Music Technology NOS (National Occupational Standards). If you have not been part of the process before, it won’t take long and allows us to create the back bone for new qualification in this area.

We have been approached by MeMyArt to promote their resource amongst our colleges. Please have a look and let us know your thoughts.

It is a site for art and design students to host their work for college assessment and univerity applications. The next stage looks like a natural move into industry looking at the work for employment assessment. This last stage has not been developed with the site's network.

National Apprenticeship Week

With National Apprenticeship Week fast upon us (6 – 10 February), we are keen to find out what your college is up in order for us to promote, champion and demonstrate the worth of your various creative apprentices.

Recent research has shown that Creative Apprentices have added £2.4million to our sector. This is from the 700 apprentices that have come through the frameworks since 2008.
