Gateshead College is rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted (Jan 2009), receiving grade ones across all six areas of inspection. This result places the College in the top 4% of colleges in the UK.

As a Founder College for the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills, Gateshead College has developed strong partnership links with The Sage Gateshead, Dance City, Live Theatre, the Newcastle Gateshead Arts Forum, and the Northern Cultural Skills Partnership,  and offers an excellent variety of courses and training opportunities.

The College offers entry level programmes through to degrees which incorporate music performance and technology, art and design, digital multimedia and games design, media production, acting, musical theatre and dance. With a strong focus on emerging digital technologies, our students are equipped with a range of skills that enable them to thrive in today’s creative industries.

As part of the £39million Baltic Campus opened in January 2008, the College has a 200 seat theatre and state of the art production studios, rehearsal studios and teaching resources.
