City of Wolverhampton College offers a wide range of courses to give students the skills and knowledge they need to embark on an exciting and rewarding career in the Creative Industries.

From traditional A levels to work related qualifications, and from a Level 1 Diploma in Art and Design to a Foundation Degree in Music Theatre, there’s something to suit everyone.

The college’s strong links with industry means there is a wealth of opportunity for real work experience, where students are able to put together valuable portfolios and build up an impressive CV.

Our partners include WCR FM, Wolverhampton’s own community radio station, which operates from college premises, giving students the chance to get themselves on air.

Film students can also take advantage of MediaCove Productions, a creative production company within City of Wolverhampton College, offering students a unique opportunity to work alongside a professional crew and gain first hand experience of what it really takes to succeed in the creative industries.

The college has also recently established an exciting partnership with live music venue Wolverhampton Civic Hall, and set up a base at their recently opened Slade Rooms. Creative Arts students now have the opportunity to gain industry experience in one of the most dynamic concert venues in the county, helping to organise events, manage the box office or help with setting up concerts.

Students benefit from tutors with a wealth of practical experience – the college has a policy of using tutors who maintain their professional practice, ensuring that learners can pick up a wealth of valuable skills welcomed by universities and employers alike.

The college has been recognised as a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for the Creative Industries. This centre forms a Black Country learning hub with high quality technical facilities for training in journalism, media, music, television, multi-media, animation and photography. City of Wolverhampton College was also one of the first in the country selected to teach the government's new qualification - The Creative and Media Diploma - and has recently started delivering Creative Apprenticeships within the region.
