Apprenticeship Training Service

An alternative and cost-effective way of recruiting staff.

The Apprenticeship Training Service (ATS) can help you through all the different stages of the process: from understanding apprenticeships and exploring the possibility of taking one on, right through to recruitment.

We can even provide the service of employing the Apprentice on your behalf. You pay the salary plus 16% and we employ them and provide payroll services.  This offers reassurance for companies facing uncertain futures and a solution to recruitment freezes. It also gives small employers the chance to share an Apprentice.

We make it simple for you to take on an Apprentice:

  • We know our sector - we have a network of industry members;
  • We are experts on qualifications and apprenticeships;
  • We understand the bureaucracy...

...And because of this we hide the 'wires’.

We are introducing Apprenticeships...

  • ...in theatres and live events – in sound, lighting, wardrobe, promotion and front of house;
  • in museums, libraries and cultural heritage venues – as guides, to document collections, for fundraising and conservation;
  • in the music business – in promotion and marketing;
  • in the jewellery, silversmithing and allied trades sector – in manufacturing, engraving, polishing, gem setting and enamelling;
  • in schools, youth service and outreach  – in community arts;
  • in design
  • and in admin, finance and IT.

"The Skills Academy's Apprenticeship Training Service was the first we came across that seemed to really speak our language, understand our needs, and know the industry we work in. We've only just joined the network but we've already seen the benefits, and four apprentices have already joined us! The process was remarkably painless with most of the administration done by the team at the Leathermarket." - White Light
