The last year has been a dramatic one. Since our 2011 conference, it has (if possible) become even more important for the industry to be proactive, enterprising, creative and skilled. We are a growth industry predicted to expand 40% by 2020, yet we are confronting some of the most challenging economic circumstances of recent history.
The Skills Academy’s third Annual Industry Conference will bring together professionals from the creative and cultural industries to address these challenges, and to discuss how we can work better in collaboration with young people and education.
Together, we will explore the real return on investment in skills and what impact this is having on the sector. We will look at the issues we’re facing, explore possible responses and focus on real, practical solutions. We will also be acknowledging and celebrating the inspirational achievements of the last year, and looking at how we can build on these for the future.
This is no talking shop – come prepared to make decisions! Please join us for a crucial two days, as we prepare to move forward into 2012-13 and the challenges and opportunities it presents.
John Hayes MP (Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning) will be the keynote speaker, and he will be joined by some of the most influential figures from the creative and cultural sector.
If you are a key decision maker in the creative and cultural industry then this is the conference for you. Our Conference will be held at Salford’s iconic venue The Lowry on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 March.
