Benefits of Training
|

|
Talent is the greatest resource of the creative and cultural industries. To ensure you get the best, you have to seek it out. Training gives you an opportunity to breathe fresh life into your business, employing someone with passion and a commitment to the industry.
How can employers influence formal education and training?
We need employers to engage with education and training to ensure that publicly funded courses meet employment needs.
Employers can help in the following ways:
- By joining the NSA as Industry Members, keeping in touch with new developments and working with Founder Colleges;
- By hosting a careers event as part of the NSA's annual Offstage Choices° programme;
- By making close links with your nearest Founder College to develop projects, opportunities and links. This may include supporting the Diploma in Creative and Media, offering work placements or taking part in Founder College programmes as visiting specialists;
- Employing an Apprentice as an entry-level employee in your organisation.
What people are saying...
"Taking the young talent of this nation and turning it into what we know will be the economic engine of this nation is the most important obligation we've got."
Roy Clare CBE, Chief Executive, Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (MLA)
"Having David with us has been terrific; he brings the theory from college and gets to put it into practice straight away. He is changing the dynamics of the place – asking the right questions that make us stop and think..."
Mike Benson, Director of Ryedale Folk Museum
"We’re delighted to be part of such an exciting initiative; it’s a great opportunity for both young people and employers. Young people now have a real chance to get a foot through the door whilst employers will get qualified, skilled and experienced workers."
Gabin Sinclair, Director, Rising Tide, London
