Apprenticeships...

An apprenticeship is a system of learning skills and knowledge for a new generation of practitioners.  The learning programme takes place on the job and is linked to achieving nationally recognised qualifications.

From a starting point of 0 Apprentices in 2008 in the creative and cultural sector we now have, as of July 2010, 300 Apprentices on programme or having completed their apprenticeship.

Why should I employ an Apprentice?

  • To develop your workforce of the future – Apprenticeships are the most effective route to providing skilled workers.
  • To ‘grow your own’ - training recruits in your way of doing things so that your company values and good practices are instilled from day one.
  • To change the age profile of your staff  - this is a cost-effective way of replenishing an ageing workforce and ensuring the effective transfer of knowledge. Changing the age dynamics in your workplace can also help to make people think differently and look at problems in a new light.
  • To enhance your reputation in the eyes of your stakeholders, funders and staff - because you are seen to live the rhetoric on equality and diversity.

We cut out the hassle of taking on an Apprentice...

You make all the hiring decisions and we will make it all happen. We offer the Apprenticeship Training Service, where we make it simple and hassle-free for you to take on an Apprentice.

You only have to engage when choosing your apprentice, or you can be involved in all stages of the process.  We can even reduce your administrative and bureaucratic burden by employing the apprentice ourselves and placing them with you as a ‘host’ for a wages plus fee charge.
